Take a stand

Had a hard time with what I wanted to talk about tonight. I finally decided to talk about what you stand for. This is actually tough at first because it isn’t something that we really talk about or have to think about in our thoughts about the future. But, when it comes time to put them into words, it seems next to impossible. In my opinion, it’s because for most of us it happens naturally. We usually call it our conscience. It’s kind of like our compass.

The things you stand for are the things you won’t compromise on. Like, let’s say you get offered a million dollars to sabotage your best friends project. If you really value your friend, you wouldn’t do it for any amount of money. It has more to do with your values and beliefs.

I’ve found in life that I have a lot of stands, that I can’t compromise on. Sometimes, I have gone against the things I stand for and ultimately I was miserable because of it. So, basically this is going to help you in the grand scheme of things. Especially as the noises around you become louder. There are a lot of ideas out there that you can do this or that but, only you can decide if this is what’s best for you. Also, if it is moral for you. We’re are human though, and sometimes we will slip up. Don’t beat yourself up too bad.

One of my stands is, I won’t exploit people and I don’t like people who do. I have a hard time with this. Everyone is at a different level in their lives. Some aren’t as smart or educated about things and there are a lot of people who would take advantage of people. Some people have disabilities that could put them in a position to be exploited. This is just one example of my stands. With some thinking you can put your stand into words.

Once you have found your stand you will be one step closer to figuring out what it is you want. Why is this important? Well, if you don’t know what you stand for, you will fall for anything. Sounds cheesy doesn’t it. Ha. It’s true though. You may spend twenty years climbing a ladder only to find that when you get so far up that it goes against everything you stand for. As I said before, it acts as a compass. It will keep you on your path and making decisions easier to make as you go. Your decisions will come faster because you will know if it goes against your stand.

I’m hoping that you are enjoying reading. I’m having fun writing. I know it’s probably not the greatest at the moment, but bear with me.

I know you are wondering what happened years ago, with what I wanted. Well, it actually had to do with my stand. What? You ask. Yep, everything in my life was upside down and I was having a hard time getting it where I needed it to go. I took my focus off for just a second and that was it. But, in my defense, I never thought in a million years I would ever find what I was looking for. But I did and I thought I was ready. Not even close. Am I ready now? Yes, I see the victory, as said by Sun Tzu, “ To see victory only when it is within the ken of the common herd is not the acme of excellence.” Which basically says, you have to see the victory before you go to battle.

I know I haven’t given you a lot of information about my path, don’t worry I’ll eventually tell you. Right now though, you have to start to learn your way and map it out. You’ve got a long ways to catch up with me. But don’t worry, you will. I do enjoy this. Writing for anyone who will read it. As I said earlier, leave me a comment. Have a great night. See you tomorrow.
